CityJet
Just flown with this airline for the first time out of London City to Cork and back, what cracking service.

23kg checked in bag for free, complimentary drink and snack and extremely good service and punctual for more or less the same price as their rivals. Makes Ryanair look very amateurish.

Re: CityJet
The best deals these days are often on the meet & greet parking, believe it or not - but you need to book in advance. Feb is probably a little late for it to be cheap.

Have a look at comparison sites like Holiday Extras.

Re: CityJet
For stanstead airport the train gets you closer to the terminal building than anything (apart from the transfer bus).

Its easy to park for free around the town of stansted mountfitchet and the train is cheap.

Went Dublin in Oct for boys weekend. Paid £21 parking at Stansted....car park is good 10 mins on the bus though but overall no bother

Re: CityJet
Out of interest, saw someone mention £50 for parking at stanstead is madness. For 4 nights parking there in feb, any recs on where's best?! Cheers

Re: CityJet
Fair enough. Pries go up like flights though, so you have to be quick.

It wasn't a weekend, it was for 4 days.

Re: CityJet
You need to be on that kind of booking when fares come out. Somewhere like that at that time is always going to be expensive.

Re: CityJet
Blimey , only 5kg allowance on wizz , flight wasn't even that cheap - 350 odd return to sunny beach in August .

Thought it would be 150 or so.

Re: CityJet
As kia says, you pay for the free stuff whether you think you do or not. Ryanair's cheapest price will always be cheaper than most though. Obviously pricing is dynamic so sometimes it'll cost more than other airlines, but that's down to the scarcity of seats.

It's nicer if it's nicer, but its not necessary. Show me a flight for £50 on Ryanair that's £70 on another airline, I'll be booking Ryanair. I don't need those frills for a couple of hours on what is essentially a bus.

Living in Hornchurch though, City is WAY more desirable than Stansted. Oh, and whoever was paying £50 for a weekend of parking at Stansted - book further in advance!

A word of caution on Wizz - since they introduced "small" cabin baggage for free, they are shit hot on the size of things. Small cabin baggage is tiny - LARGE cabin baggage is the standard size, and you pay for that. Girlfriend got a handbag? They'll routinely make you put it in your cabin bag and if you can't, they'll charge. If your bag is slightly bigger then the regulation size, you'll get done up the arse when they charge you - none of the budget airlines are as hot on it as they are.

I don't hate them but I only use them if I have to, a bit like condoms.

I don't get why people hate ryanair. No one forces you to use them.

Use Cityjet via City to Brive several times a year and have nothing but praise for them. Reasonable price, decent service and with City you get none of the hassle you get with Stansted or Gatwick.

Re: CityJet
The other great thing about flying from LCY is the transport links, £10 return to Upminster on the rattler rather than £50 to park my car at Stansted.

Whizz air was decent to Romania.

Ryanair was an hour late home and then sent a replacement plane that wasn't of the Ryanair fleet.

As long as it flys I don't care tbh.
